In the Services space, we are involved in Collection, Transportation and Processing of MSW, Bio-Mining of Legacy waste, processing of Bio-Manure and Bio-CNG across multiple urban local bodies. Wastes are classified based on their biodegradability. It is the measure of how easily and how quickly a waste can be broken down into organic material. The classification is as below:

  • Wet Waste – It comprises all bio-degradable waste which includes cooked and uncooked food, fruits, vegetable peels, and other organically decomposable waste. This waste has to be segregated at source and collected on a daily basis and should be handed over in a Green bin to send it for further processing.
  • Non-Biodegradable Waste – It comprises all the waste that includes plastics, nylon, laminates, other than organically decomposable waste. They are not easily biodegradable and it might not be advisable to leave them scattered
  • Recyclable Dry Waste – Some occasional extra waste materials such as glass bottles, cartons, bags, plastic covers etc. can be cleaned for reuse or by processing the same. They have a resaleable market value. It should be segregated separately and handed over in a separate Blue bin. Segregating these not only ensures better waste management but even proper usage of resources.
  • Hazardous Waste – They include any chemical, compound, mixture, substance or articles which are designated by the State or Central Government or Environmental Protection Agency of the State or Central Government to be as hazardous as that term is defined by or pursuant to State or Central Act. They need to be handled with proper care and attention.
  • Construction & Demolition Waste - These are building waste materials resulting from Constructions, remodeling, repairs & maintenance, demolition operations. They may also contain substances considered as hazardous waste that should not be mixed with the wet or recyclable waste specified as above under no condition.
  • Garden and Horticulture Waste – Plants, Trees and cut tree branches, leaves.
  • E-Waste – Electronic waste like computers, laptops, mobile phones, USB drives, and any other electronic device that is discarded.
  • Inerts – Stones, non-ferrous metal pieces, broken glasses and waste that cannot be classified into any of the above and has to be either dumped or incinerated.

It’s great of you to have even asked this question. Speaks a lot about your endeavor.

Be aware of the bin colors and the kind of wastes - The Green Bin for Wet Wastes, the Blue Bin for Resaleable/Recyclable Dry Wastes, The Red Bin for the Inert and Hazardous Wastes, the Yellow Bin for Non-Biodegradable Non-resaleable Wastes.

Bulk Waste Generators or BWGs can make a huge positive impact when they shoulder certain responsibilities.

Their responsibilities are:

  • Segregation of the waste generated by 3 separate streams – bio-degradable (wet waste), non-biodegradable (dry waste) and domestic biohazardous wastes in suitable bins, ensuring 100% segregation at source
  • Facilitating the collection of segregated waste into separate streams
  • Handing over recyclable material to either the authorized waste pickers or the authorized recyclers
  • Bio-degradable waste shall be processed, treated and disposed of through composting or bio-methanation within premises or shall be given to waste collectors or agency as directed by the local body

We appreciate your responsible curiosity! We have been given Micro Composting Centers by the GCC in different parts of the city. This will not only ensure proper usage of wet wastes, but also a proper segregation, making the entire process rigid. Our Bio-CNG plant is underway to generate CNG from the wet wastes collected daily. All other types of waste are sent for reuse or recycle or filling or incineration.

It is a simple-but-effective authorization mechanism for approval of collection quantities.

When you order a waste pick-up, our vehicle collects the wet and dry wastes and weighs them. Our collection personnel will capture the details on the BigBin Mobile app and it will be shown to you. For you to approve those quantities and prices, and to authorize the collection, you can either scan a QR code or do it through an OTP.

Yes! BigBin does pay you for the resaleable dry wastes (like Carton Box, Milk Covers, Newspapers, and Tins). The cost of our support process/our service will be deducted before we calculate the payment

We strongly recommend that you keep your wastes properly segregated in each bins, so the collection process becomes easy, efficient and faster.

BigBin will not collect the following wastes at this time. In future, we aspire to expand by collecting them as well.

  • Horticulture and Garden Waste
  • Construction & Demolition (C&D) Waste
  • Bio-Medical Waste and domestic hazardous Waste
  • E-Waste

BWGs must have their own Bins, Bin Bags, Jumbo Bags, etc. to make the whole process faster and easy. We can support you in buying as we handle bulk purchases from direct manufacturers.
